Courage is the most important of all the virtues, because without courage you can't practice any other virtues consistently. You can't be consistently kind or fair or humane or generous, not without courage, because if you don't have it, sooner or later you will stop and say, "The threat is too much. The difficulty is ...too high. The challenge is too great. ~ Maya Angelou

September 15, 2009 Question of the Week

What is EANES LINK and why does the superintendent share the the "inside scoop" with only this membership when the rest of the taxpaying community isn't allowed the same opportunity ?

Who chooses the members of this elite organization?

Two years ago Eanes ISD superintendent Nola Wellman created a select group called EANES LINK.  The membership of this group, as described in a letter from Wellman, will receive "updates on breaking news and emerging issues, information on upcoming events and board actions, newsletters, brochures and personal invitations to district activities ... and opportunities to provide feedback throughout the year."

Two years later, have you heard of EANES LINK Two years later, there isn't a single hit on Google for "EANES LINK" that describes, defines, or offers information from the district about this group.

Censored books?  Wellman's complaints against teachers?  ADA compliance ... or not?

Noncompliance with the state public information laws?  Class size?  District planning?

Facility Rental fees?  Bond program?  Spanish in elementary schools?

In response to a public information request about this group, Eanes ISD claims to have no responsive documents that show how the membership is "nominated" or selected.

Take a look at the communications from Nola Wellman to EANES LINK ... only available on KEEPEANESINFORMED.
