Courage is the most important of all the virtues, because without courage you can't practice any other virtues consistently. You can't be consistently kind or fair or humane or generous, not without courage, because if you don't have it, sooner or later you will stop and say, "The threat is too much. The difficulty is ...too high. The challenge is too great. ~ Maya Angelou

Community Updates

This document, created in 2003 by an Eanes ISD board member, was requested by KeepEanesInformed in January 2006 and produced by the district eight (8) months later in September 2006.

Dianna Pharr submitted her first public information request to Eanes ISD in 2003.  As citizens, we are often not able to "ask questions" and receive answers from those who operate our school district.  However, we do have a right to inspect public information that reflects details regarding the expenditures and operations of our school district ... and that right is provided to all citizens by the Texas Public Information Act.  Also in 2003, I offered my volunteer effort to post fundamental information such as board minutes, agendas, handouts and budget information on the district's website.

When the district refused, I created my own website.

Susan Bushart, mother of four and Eanes ISD community member also began to seek "answers" (public information) in 2003.  Susan communicated her questions about the public information she reviewed in a series of letters called "Community Updates", provided below for your review.  - Dianna Pharr
